Choosing a broadband provider can seem a little daunting at first. There are many broadband providers competing for your business and finding the right one for you from the many deals on offer does need a little thought beforehand.
In the end, it comes down to requirements. What is it you are looking for in your broadband provider?
Price is often top of the list of people's requirements when really, top of the list should be reliability. Are the service providers you have on your shortlist reliable? Will they still exist and be in business in a year's time? The wrong choice now could leave you with more than a headache 12 months from now. You could find that all of your ISP email accounts have disappeared overnight, as well as being unable to connect to the internet.
As much as anything, it comes down to the 'name' and history of the company. Is it a name you know is an established broadband provider? One with a good track record? One you feel you can trust? The companies chosen by this website have several things in common: reliability, a strong internet presence and an excellent track record of delivering a top quality service to their customers.
Second to reliability is cost. Are you getting a good deal for your money? Weighing up your requirements should give you a good idea of the type of service you are looking for. If you only intend some light use, there is little point in ordering a 4Mbps broadband connection! Similarly, if you are connecting several computers to the internet simultaneously, a 512Mbps broadband connection may not be adequate for your needs.
